Nintendo ’3DS’

So, the news on the proverbial street is that Nintendo’s next release will be the next in the DS line of things, the 3DS. Which apparently means a 3D version of the DS! This means that you could be playing Mario, or you favorite Nintendo game, personally I know someone who would love to play Zelda in 3D. From what is being said the 3D screen would be possible by using a sharp parallax barrier LCD. These types of screens are currently being prototyped in cars meaning that you can run two applications on the same screen but only seeing one from each angle, meaning that for example the passenger could be watching a film and the driver looking at the satnav. These screens mean that no glasses are required but will only work on smaller screens and not TVs. I presume this is due to the fact that it can send different images to each screen, the screen angled to only give the image to one eye, in essence the same way as the glasses work. These type screens are currently being tested using 3d on mobile phones in  Japan.

In recent years Nintendo have paved the way with user interaction. Primarily with the wireless motion controller on the Wii. Which has only recently been followed up with by the other console manufacturers, Sony’s Move and Microsoft’s equivalent for the Xbox. Will this be the future of handheld gaming? I think so but only time will tell. Personally I cant wait.

Right so the walkout, strike, refusal to work, what ever you want to call it has happened. It’s started today. This has quite irritated me actually. Last quarter BA posted £50 Million in pre tax losses, That means that in the first 3 quarters of the 09-10 financial year BA have made a pre tax loss of £342 Million. That is a colossal amount. If we compare that to easyjet. at the end of three quarters in the 09-10 year eayjet are at £44 Million in profits. And so it appears BA have a major problem. And so they are trying to resolve this problem. Reducing staffing levels, reducing pay, etc etc. These are reasonable ways to reduce the costs that the company is incurring and try and keep the company afloat. At the end of the day unless BA do something quick they won’t be around much longer. So what are unite doing? calling a strike, thus meaning more losses for BA. These people are protesting that there are being cuts. Yes its not a good thing but you have two choices. Have cuts and still have a job or, have no cuts, the company goes bust then you are ALL out of a job, no redundancy no, pay nothing. Is that really the outcome you want? i guess not! So rather than complaining about it and causing the company more trouble why not work through it? make the company profitable again! secure your jobs! Because all your doing at the moment is killing off the company thus killing off your jobs. And i’m guessing that if and when BA do go under you will be the first ones to complain about not getting redundancy. if you don’t like it then there is the door. unite you want to keep people employed? Then stop this insane action and save the company! don’t kill it!

Well thats my piece over, Feel free to express your views on this, i encourage comments from BA staff and unite
