Between the 6th and 9th April rail maintenance and signal workers will go on strike causing major disruption to the network. I have to travel to work every day on the train, somedays i have to get a 5:54 train there and a 20:40 train back. London midland, my local train operator have issued a revised timetable, there will be 4 trains an hour on my route, sounds good to me. Upton further investigation they are running trains that frequent but they are only running trains between 7:21 and 19:00. There will be no replacement bus service and no trains after this time at the current climate. How it this supposed to help me get to work? And ontop of that I cannot claim and of London Midlands “delay repay” system unless one of the newly scheduled trains is delayed. So its going to cost me a fortune. At the moment it is looking like I may have to stay in a cheap hotel for 3 days, again MORE expense to me. in a world when everyone is strugeling this is not what we need.

I understand the RMT and TSSA feel they need to strike to get there case across but like the BA strike, isn’t it better to have a job that you don’t like that no job at all?

I have sent a message to London midland and now shall wait for a response.
