A geeks blog , with some politics
A late review of China
I realise this is late but I havn’t had much time to post.
Recently, google have pulled out of the China mainland and have moved there services to Hong Kong. Yes HK is part of China but they have different laws defining filtering. China can still filter there results and services as they do with a lot of external services and websites. Many blogs, possibly even this one, is blocked for people inside mainland China. Google have said that the reason that they have left the mainland is due to repeated attacks on their servers from within mainland China blaming them on the government. Google have set up a page to monitor what services are available in mainland china and it can be found here.
If you want to read the full post on the official google blog you can here
I do plan to try and help China and the people of China bypass the restrictions enforced by the regime but that is an issue for another time.
